Randle mcmurphy
BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
Randle McMurphy is the protagonist of the story. He is a troublemaker and rebelious, covered with scars and tattoos, and although he may not have the qualities of your traditonal protagonist, he is seen as a savior in the eyes of Chief Bromden, the narrator. He was sent to the hospital due to his violance and heavy interest in many women, which led to him being labeled as a psychopath. Due to his rebellios nature, he defied the hospitals system and began to go against it and Nurse Ratched's cruel control. |
Analysis
McMurphy enters the hospital completly sane, but becomes a victim of the hospital when his plan to control the hospital backfires. In contrast to Bromden, McMurphy comes in completely sane, but loses his sanity towards the end, but Bromden gains his sanity thanks to McMurphy. When McMurphy enters the hopsital, he imediately gets everyones attention. He influenced everyone to stand up to the unjust control of the hospital. McMurphy can be seen as a martyr, who gave up his sanity for the sake of the others in the hospital.
